Cottage Green is one of those neighborhoods that immediately catches your attention when you drive through Alden Bridge in The Woodlands, Texas. Mature trees arch over the streets, front porches face the neighborhood, sidewalks wind past beautifully landscaped homes, and a central green space and playground sit right in the middle of it all.
It has a distinct personality that feels a little different from many other neighborhoods in The Woodlands—and that’s a big part of its appeal.

A Neighborhood with Character
One of the first things you’ll notice about Cottage Green is the setting.
The streets are lined with mature trees that create a beautiful canopy overhead, with sunlight filtering through the branches onto the homes, sidewalks, and lawns below. Many of the homes feature welcoming front porches and traditional architectural details that give the neighborhood a classic, established feel.
Rather than every home looking exactly alike, you’ll see a variety of styles and layouts while still maintaining a cohesive neighborhood appearance.
It’s the kind of place where the homes, landscaping, sidewalks, trees, and shared spaces all work together to create the character of the neighborhood.

A Central Green Space & Playground
One of my favorite features of Cottage Green is the way the neighborhood is designed around a central green space and playground.
Instead of having to leave the neighborhood to find somewhere for the kids to play or simply enjoy some open space, residents have it right in the middle of the community.
The large grassy area, playground, mature trees, and surrounding homes create a natural gathering place and reinforce the neighborhood feel that Cottage Green is known for.
It’s a great example of how thoughtful neighborhood planning can affect everyday life.
Located in Alden Bridge
Cottage Green is located within the Village of Alden Bridge, one of the established residential villages of The Woodlands.
Living here puts residents close to many of the things that make Alden Bridge convenient, including parks, pathways, schools, shopping, dining, recreation, and the Alden Bridge Village Center.
At the same time, Cottage Green itself maintains a quiet residential atmosphere.
That combination—being close to everyday conveniences while still coming home to a tree-lined neighborhood—is one of the reasons Alden Bridge continues to appeal to people looking to live in The Woodlands.
Outdoor Living Is Part of the Neighborhood
The Woodlands is known for incorporating nature and outdoor recreation throughout the community, and Cottage Green fits right into that lifestyle.
Sidewalks make it easy to walk through the neighborhood, while the central green and playground provide additional outdoor space just steps from the surrounding homes.
Beyond Cottage Green, Alden Bridge residents also have access to neighborhood parks and The Woodlands’ extensive pathway system, providing even more opportunities for walking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors.
And because so much of the mature tree canopy has been preserved, even a simple walk through the neighborhood feels different from what you’ll find in many newer developments.

Homes in Cottage Green
The homes themselves are another big part of Cottage Green’s charm.
Front porches, established landscaping, mature trees, and traditional architectural details give many of the properties a welcoming appearance from the street.
For buyers who prefer an established neighborhood over a brand-new development, Cottage Green offers something that’s difficult to recreate quickly: years of mature landscaping and an already established neighborhood character.
It’s worth keeping an eye on the area if Cottage Green is somewhere you’d like to live. Depending on market conditions, there may not always be a large selection of homes available at the same time.
What Makes Cottage Green Special?
There are plenty of beautiful neighborhoods throughout The Woodlands, and choosing between them often comes down to the type of lifestyle and setting you prefer.
Cottage Green stands out for its combination of:
Mature, tree-lined streets
Charming front porches and varied home styles
A central neighborhood green and playground
Sidewalks and outdoor spaces
An established residential feel
Convenient access to Alden Bridge amenities & Alden Bridge Village Center
The parks and pathways found throughout The Woodlands
Sometimes you can learn more about a neighborhood by spending ten minutes driving through it than you can by looking at dozens of listings online. Cottage Green is definitely one of those neighborhoods.
